Abstract

The number of recurrent collaterals in the L5 dorsal root was compared in a group of young cats and a group of adult cats. There were significantly more recurrent collaterals in the young animals. This is taken as support for the ‘aberrant afferent’ hypothesis of recurrent collaterals.
