Abstract

The aim of the study was to assess hemodynamics in ductus venosus in the third trimester of pregnancy. Measurements of blood flow parameters in ductus venosus were performed using color Doppler combined with the pulsed-wave Doppler technique. In the analyzed period, the wave spectrum of blood flow in the ductus venosus had a specific pulsating character with two acceleration phases visible. The presented study showed an increase in peak systolic velocity, end-diastolic velocity, resistance index and pulsatility index in the last period of the third trimester of pregnancy. All Doppler parameters in the ductus venosus were correlated with the day of gestation. It has been shown that blood flow parameters and the Doppler spectrum depend on the gestational age. The obtained results may be useful for the future study of ductus venosus in fetal period in goats.
