Abstract

We examine the doping dependence of the resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) by using numerically exact diagonalization technique on finite size cluster systems. The single-band Hubbard model with long-range hoppings is adopted to describe the Zhang–Rice singlet band (ZRB) and upper Hubbard band by mapping ZRB onto the lower Hubbard band in the model. We find that excitations across the Mott gap can be observed in the RIXS even in doped systems.
