Abstract

The article presents the analyses of the functioning of the domestic model of the actual visual art since the end of the 190s till nowadays. The character of the infrastructure of the local art system has been analyzed, the position of the institution is defined within the context of the contemporary art process. The most specific phenomena are identified and analyzed in the sphere of the world art practices and their characteristics are investigated in correlation with the international art discussions. The amplitude of the relations between the official resources and local creative environment is detected.Since the time of the restoration of Independence of Ukraine the artists went through the complicated path of the creative self determination and identification. The Ukrainian experience of the search for the optimal approach to the building of the local institutions consists of several periods: from the creation of the Western institutional analogues in the 1990s to the construction of the innovative resource and other forms of the relations in the middle of the 2000s.
