Abstract

Despite the difference in cultures, systems, values, and lifestyles around the world, their dialogue is expanding. This law of "mutual attraction" of cultures can fully work thanks to the mechanisms of globalization and the latest information technologies. The author shows that the strategy of globalization is based on the "three pillars": the economy, universal cross-border information communications (mass communications), and culture. However, while the economy and communication links are easily involved in globalization processes, culture remains specific, embodying all the functions that it performs precisely in a certain sociocultural context. The materials of the article can be useful in the framework of training in the disciplines "Philosophy", "Political Science", and "Culturology".
