Abstract
Abstract The finite thickness of domain walls in improper ferroelastics leads to a temperature dependent orientation of antiphase boundaries and to the prohibition of the existence of planar ferroelastic domain walls below a certain temperature. Both effects are reviewed in a unified way. A comparison with experiments is given.
