Abstract

Dynamical properties of incommensurate-commensurate phase transition in Rb2ZnCl4, was studied by means of a transmission electron microscope combined with a TV camera system. The velocities of antistripple heads in the cooling process were measured and the dependence on their width was derived. Temporal evolution of the discommensuration (DC) pattern was observed and the shapes of the correlation functions for the DC positions were found to be related to the characteristic movement of the DCs.
