Abstract

ABSTRACT Field education experiences provided for graduate students in social work are critical ingredients for successful entry into the profession. The success of a field placement hinges on the relationship between the field instructor and the student. In an expanding multicultural context, there is an increasing ethnic diversity among social work students and field instructors. This paper reports on quantitative research which examined the influence of race/ethnicity on the field instructor and student relationship.
