Abstract

Evidence suggests that double model inputs that combine visual and auditory stimuli are more powerful than those involving visual or auditor stimuli alone. This study has experimented with dictation that integrates the stream of speech and its written representation in an attempt to determine if repeated practice in taking dictation improves the students' language skills. The findings of this study are discussed in the light of the effect and amount of instruction, the incubation hypothesis, and the fossilization hypothesis.
