Abstract
COMPILER's NOTE: The following bibliography of foreign affairs dissertations is the eighth annual article, with the first being published in the Spring 1979 issue of Diplomatic History. The compiler has listed the author, title, university, year of dissertation, field of study as listed in Dissertation Abstracts International, order number of the dissertation from University Microfilms International, and issue of DAI in which the abstract appeared. If no DAI issue is given, the dissertation is from a university that does not cooperate with DAI. Occasionally material from the abstract is used to clarify a title or to state briefly a dissertation's conclusion. Some dissertations have been included that relate to the interests of the United States, even though they do not center on the United States specifically. Those readers interested in one of the dissertations can order it directly from University Microfilms International, Dissertation Information Services, 300 North Zeeb Road, P.O. Box 1764, Ann Arbor, MI 48106, or call 800-521-3042. For those dissertations with no order number (n.o.n.), it is suggested that the university's library be contacted directly. For universities located in Canada, microfiche copies of dissertations are available from the National Library, Ottawa, Canada. In addition, the Center for Research Libraries holds a collection of over 600,000 foreign doctoral dissertations, which can be used through interlibrary loan. Inquiries should be sent to the director, Center for Research Libraries, 5721 Cottage Grove Avenue, Chicago, IL 60637.
