Abstract

ABSTRACTWe study the photocurrent statistics in a homodyne setup with a mirror in the vacuum port. Conventional photodetection theory predicts a modulation of the photocurrent noise due to the mirror. We show that the mirror changes the quantum efficiency of the detector and affects both the mean and noise of the photocurrent. We discuss detector design parameters that will enhance this effect.
