Abstract
Objectives: While magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) protocols to quantify lipid content in the aortic root of patients exist, the small vessel size makes similar imaging approaches in a mouse model challenging. Therefore, our aim was to establish a dedicated protocol for quantification of the plaque lipid content in the aortic root of ApoE-/- mice by ex-vivo MRI.
