Abstract

Academic libraries use library exhibits as an outreach and marketing tool. Many libraries, however, lack dedicated outreach and marketing staff to manage a sustainable exhibits program. The Exhibits Committee at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa (UHM) library developed a model for sustainable practices to manage a robust and diverse exhibits program for the library. Through in-house collaborations, campus partnerships, and community contacts, the library incorporated diversity in exhibits that reflect the rich educational and multicultural environment and values reflected in the UHM community.
