Abstract
A dynamic two-dimensional problem has been considered to investigate the disturbance due to mechanical and thermal sources in a homogeneous thermal conducting poroelastic medium. Laplace and Fourier transform technique is used to solve the problem. The application of the concentrated and distributed sources are taken to illustrate the utility of the approach. The transformed components of displacement, stress, pore pressure and temperature change are obtained and inverted numerically by using numerical inversion technique. The effect of porosity on the resulting quantities is presented graphically. Some special cases of interest are also deduced.
