Abstract

This paper deals with the role of the scalar potential, which is one indispensable variable in the conventional four-component 3-D FEM calculation. The role of the scalar potential is discussed based on the calculated distributions of the scalar potential in flux concentration apparatus. A new four-component divided direct calculation method is applied to the analysis of the flux concentration apparatus. Three dimensional distributions of the flux density, the eddy current and the scalar potential are obtained successfully.
