Abstract

Distributed fiber Bragg grating (FBG) array can detect vibration signal and temperature in oil well with good real-time monitoring effects, which demonstrates a new technology for downhole parameter monitoring. In this paper, two kinds of fiber grating arrays with a distance of FBGs differs from 1 and 5 m were employed to make an Optical Fiber Composite Overhead Ground Wire (OPGW) which can be used in the downhole for temperature and vibration measurements. The experimental results show that the system can realize temperature detection with a spatial resolution of 1 m and an accuracy of 1 °C. At the meantime, the vibration measurement can realize the spatial resolution of 5 m. The system can measure thousands of FBGs at the same time, which can realize large capacity and multi-parameters monitoring with good real-time effects.
