Abstract

The paper considers various calibrating algorithm approaches of a distributed fiber-optic temperature sensor in order to modify the two-point calibration algorithm and improve the accuracy of converting a reflectogram into a thermogram. As a modification, it is proposed to use an additional feature of the original signal based on its first derivative. A scheme for constructing a generalized heuristic calibration formula that takes into account multiple features of the reflectogram is proposed. The accuracy of the two-point and modified (three-point) algorithms was evaluated on thermostated regions of the optical line. It is shown that the modified calibration algorithm makes it possible to achieve greater accuracy compared to the two-point one. So, for the region thermostated at –50 °C, the standard deviation for the modified algorithm is 0.08 °C, for the two-point algorithm 0.26 °C.
