Abstract

The refractive index during self-focusing was considered as a component of the metric tensor, it means, as a curvature of space-time. However, there was an interest – what will be, if the refractive index is complex. If we introduce a complex metric tensor, then the complex part will not curve space-time. At the same time, with the presence of nonlinear effects, damping modes will occur, it means, if n is linear, then the absorption will be α, but if n = n1 + n2I, then the absorption will be different, which will be discussed in this article.
