Abstract
Studies in an experimental plant have demonstrated the possibility of preventing scale formation during desalination of sea water by evaporation with seeding; and the parameters of the operating conditions of the evaporation apparatus without scale precipitation have been established.Based on these investigations, a desalination plant was constructed in 1963 in Shevchenko with a daily productive capacity of 5,000 m3 it consists of a four-unit evaporator with vertical-tube heat exchangers with natural circulation of the brine.The results of the operation of the experimental industrial desalination plant in Shevchenko from 1963–1965 are presented in this report.
