Abstract

The present invention relates to a distance measuring device and a distance measuring method which are capable of error correction according to the surface brightness of a subject. Distance errors due to the surface color, brightness, or illumination of an object to be measured can be corrected by including both an RGB camera and an illumination sensor in addition to a distance measuring sensor using a light source, and by using measurement data for two or more reference objects and introducing a brightness weight concept. Therefore, the distance to an object around the sensor can be accurately measured without any influence by the light source of the distance measuring sensor.
