Abstract

Bunionette deformity with a large metatarsal head, mild increase in lateral bowing of the fifth metatarsal shaft, or mild increase in the 4-5 intermetatarsal angle may be effectively treated with a distal soft-tissue realignment procedure and distal chevron osteotomy. Keys to successful outcome include meticulous attention to the soft-tissue repair and adequate preoperative workup to ensure that appropriate indications are met.
