Abstract

The thermodynamic dissociation constant of the hydrogen selenate ion between 0° and 45°C is determined by a precision e.m.f. method. The thermodynamic quantities derived for the dissociation reaction HSeO 4 −  H + + SeO 4 2- are ΔH° = −5·57 kcal mole −1, ΔG° = −2·26 kcal mole −1 and ΔS° = −26·3 cal deg −1 mole −1.
