Abstract

Glyde to Campbell: Many properties of liquid 4He including the dispersion curve for the elementary excitations you describe, can be calculated with impressive precision using the method to Correlated Basis Functions (CBF). Can this method be extended to finite temperatures near Tλ? How would you distinguish clearly between a description of superfluid and normal 4He in the CBF method? Would you expect the dispersion curve to be substantially different in normal and superfluid 4He?
