Abstract
We studied acquired cerebellar abnormalities in a series of premature infants born before 30th week of gestation. After normal cerebellar ultrasound in the early neonatal period, the following cerebellar abnormalities were recognized on MR after the third month of life: symmetric volume reduction of the cerebellar hemispheres, a small vermis, a small brainstem with flattened anterior curvature of the pons, and loss of supratentorial white matter.
