Abstract

Surface damage produced by the erosion of an annealed Stellite alloy has been studied by the techniques of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and x-ray diffraction (XRD). Specimens of the alloy were eroded by gas carried angular alumina particles of two sizes (mean sizes 10μm and 30μm), at velocities of 28 and 68 m/s for angles of impingement between 10° and 90°.
