Abstract

 El diseño de proyecto de la torre de atirantamiento para la ejecución del arco del Viaducto de Almonte fue modificado con objeto de optimizar su fabricación y sobre todo para mejorar el ajuste del sistema de tirantes. La principal singularidad del nuevo diseño fue la conexión al tablero de hormigón en donde se cambió el empotramiento por una articulación separando así el funcionamiento de la torre y del tablero. La articulación abrió nuevas posibilidades de montaje de la torre que se fabricó en posición horizontal sobre el tablero y luego se izó de un modo también singular: el sistema biela-deslizadera.
