Abstract
In order to make a quench test, the MPZ has been chosen as heater length. But the MPZ is very long as a result of the low resistance and high heat conductivity in a superconductor, which is stabilized by pure aluminum. Such a very long heater leads to a high temperature rise in the heater zone and an unstable propagation velocity. In order to achieve a stable propagation velocity, a shorter heater and a longer duration energy injection are necessary. In this paper, the minimum heater power with a long duration time in order to grow the normal zone is described.
