Abstract
This paper explores several incidences of discrimination against pregnant women in the U.S. workplace, the financial impact on this population, and possible solutions. Throughout the last decade, over 50,000 pregnancy discrimination claims were filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Fair Employment Practices Agencies in the U.S. (Robinson). In light of this statistic and other reports described throughout this paper, it is highly recommended that laws are passed immediately to address this issue.
