Abstract

(k, n − k)-disfocality of equation (1.1) is characterized very conveniently by a set of n inequalities, as described in Theorem 6.3 and its consequences. This characterization serves as a basis to a large number of necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for (k, n − k)-disfocality. For (k, n − k)-disconjugacy the situation is quite different. Our study is less systematic and each result is proved by some ad hoc method.
