Abstract

In the spring and summer of 2013 the University of York and Birkbeck, University of London, hosted two workshops on the relevance of Rachel Carson’s book Silent Spring to interdisciplinary research. Over the course of the workshops several themes emerged, many of which pertained to the question of interdisciplinarity and its relationship with the concept of ecology. Here, the organisers reflect on these themes, and return to some of the ideas offered by the project’s delegates and speakers.
