Abstract

A method developed to exclude unwanted noise or marks from printed documents or images, where no original source of those images exists, is presented.Using the fact that generally all digital images consist of a fixed set of rows and columns of pixels, where each pixel holds color information in terms of Red, Green and Blue colors, a C++ program was developed to disassemble a digital file in order to read and write its contents and reset its pixel colors. The investigated color images were scanned and digital files were obtained. This approach helped to clean an image or document from any unwanted overwritten marks. Finally, the new cleaned image was stored as another digital file.
