Abstract
Water policy and water research have been relatively low profile over the last several years as larger issues have grabbed the headlines. Occasionally, as drought becomes particularly pervasive a bit of news trickles out in the national media (Johnson and Murphy 2004). Nevertheless, far-reaching legislative and executive activities are underway. The question remains, what impact will these Federal actions have in resolving our long-term water supply needs?
