Abstract

Directional couplers with wideband coupling characteristics can be constructed by using a nonuniform transmission line represented by a lumped Brune section and a uniform transmission line whose characteristic impedance distribution has zero derivatives at the input and output ends (NTL-BSZD). This paper first derives the equivalent circuits of two kinds of NTL-BSZI. Next, a realization technique for a coupled NTL-BSZD (CNTL-BSZD) directional coupler and the results of characteristic analysis are presented.
