Abstract

The aim of this article is to present the directions of the project management methodologies changes over previous years as well as to direct attention to the consequences of these changes to project teams. Traditional and agile approach to the project management is characterised based on literature research and available data. Directions of the project management methodologies changes are presented using case study. Specific changes introduced to project management standard PMBoK Guide (7th edition) are pointed out. Evolution of traditional PRINCE2 methodology to PRINCE2 Agile is shown, great popularity of SCRUM agile methodology is presented too. In addition characteristics of the teams applying universal and agile methodologies are indicated based on literature describing project teams analysis. In summary the attention is directed to the fact the consequence of the methodologies changes are followed by changes in competence needs of the team members realising projects.
