Abstract

High molecular weight polyamic acids have been synthesized by direct polycondensation of aromatic tetracarboxylic acids with aromatic diamines under the action of triphenyl phosphite or diphenyl sulphite and a tertiary amine. A study was made of the influence of the reaction conditions (temperature, concentration, and so on) affecting the viscosity of the resulting polyamic acid as well as the deformation-strength properties of the polyimide PI.
