Abstract

A new detector for direct sequence spread spectrum code acquisition in multiplicative and non-Gaussian noises is proposed in this article. Modelling the acquisition problem as a hypothesis-testing problem, a detector is derived for multiplicative and non-Gaussian noises, based on the locally optimum detection technique. Numerical results show that the proposed detector can offer substantial performance improvement over the conventional schemes in multiplicative and non-Gaussian noises.
