Abstract

The problem of direct position determination (DPD)with single moving array in the presence of deterministic sensor phase errors is considered. To reduce the loss in localization accuracy due to these errors, a two step procedure is proposed. First, a calibration emitter whose position is known to the sensor array is used to determine the sensor phase errors based on the maximum likelihood estimator of DPD. Then in the second step, the positions of the emitters are estimated by DPD with the previously estimated sensor phase errors. Besides, the Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) expression for the estimation of sensor phase errors in the first step of the proposed method is given. At last, numerical simulations are provided to examine the performance of the proposed method.
