Abstract

We examine a proposal about neutron detection using MgB 2 superconductor. For the purpose, we perform computer simulations for the time-dependent Ginzburg–Landau equation coupled with the temperature diffusion equation derived from the energy conservation law and simulate dynamics of “hot-spot” nucleated by neutron absorption in superconductor MgB 2. The simulations reveal basic principles required for the neutron detection.
