Abstract

During the last decade, reading education research indicates a paradigm shift toward informal measures of teaching/assessment. In this article the authors explore the types of assessments and instructional strategies being taught in teacher education programs within a five state area. A survey was conducted to identify which strategies are currently being taught in undergraduate and graduate teacher education programs. Data from the survey are discussed and displayed.
