B.L.U.F. (Bottom Line Up Front) Conservation of Linear Momentum: \(\sum {m{{{\rm{\mathord{\buildrel{\lower3pt\hbox{$\scriptscriptstyle\rightharpoonup$}}\over v} }}}_1}\, = \,\sum {m{{{\rm{\mathord{\buildrel{\lower3pt\hbox{$\scriptscriptstyle\rightharpoonup$}}\over v} }}}_2}.} } \) Impacts/collisions depend on Coefficient of Restitution (CoR): \(e\, = \,{{{v_{B2}} - {v_{A2}}} \over {{v_{A1}} - {v_{B1}}}}.\) CoR is the ratio of relative velocities after and (negative) before. “Perfectly Plastic” collision: e = 0; “Perfectly Elastic” collision: e = 1. CoR is similar in concept to the efficiency of collisions since energy is not always conserved.
