Abstract

A considerable effort has been devoted to the elucidation of 3H and 3He binding energies, where a controversy still exists on the fraction stemming from three-body forces. An approximate calculation of effects due to three-body forces in the deuteron break-up spectra, close to threshold, is discussed and compared tosome recent observations, which seem to contain direct evidence of three-body forces.
