Abstract

The contribution of the three-body NNΛ force from pion-exchange to the binding energy of p shell hypernuclei is investigated. The two-body NΛ parameters calculated in this way are found to be in good agreement with the relevant parameters calculated by Dalitz and Downs from s shell hypernuclei. This suggests that the three-body forces become important in the Λ binding as the mass number increases.
