Abstract

The solid sampling technique is used to determine copper, nickel and vanadium in coals and a petroleum coke. The National Bureau of Standards SRM 1632a, Trace Elements in Coal, and aqueous solutions of the elements were employed as standards. The contents of copper, nickel and vanadium were in the ranges 1–17, 3–130 and 20–140 ppm, respectively.
