Abstract

The DRCOphth examination is open to any medically qualified persons with a medical degree which is approved by the General Medical Council. They must have done one year in a preregistration house officer post (or equivalent) acceptable by the GMC and have some ophthalmology experience at postgraduate level (no minimum time specified). It is intended mainly for medical doctors with an interest in ophthalmology who do not wish to practise as a consultant ophthalmologist in the United Kingdom. I did it in July 2007.
