Abstract
Din sosyolojisi çalýþmalarýnda din fenomenini hem teorik hem de empirik bir temele dayalý olarak inceleme eðilimi artmýþtýr. Geleneksel teorilerle olgu arasýndaki uyumsuzluða cevap olarak geliþmiþ bu eðilim, empirik araþtýrma bulgularýnýn yorumuna yönelik olarak yapýlanmýþtýr1 . Dini, empirik ve gözlemlenebilir sosyal bir olgu olarak ele alan din sosyolojisi eðilimi, bir toplumda dinin rolü ve önemini anlamak ve açýklamak için sosyolojik bir perspektif uygulamýþtýr2.
