Abstract

Alcohol is one of the most commonly used legal substances. Adolescent drinking behaviors cover a spectrum ranging from total abstinence to dependence. This research aimed to estimate the prevalence of consumption of different alcoholic beverages among Romanian adolescents. Another objective was to investigate the context (e.g., places where consumption occurs or the people with whom adolescents use this substance) as well as the pattern of consumption (e.g., reasons for drinking or frequency of ethanol intoxication). The sample included 688 adolescents (321 girls and 367 boys). Comparative data are presented.
