Abstract
Sensing properties to dilute volatile sulfides such as H 2S, CH 3SH and (CH 3) 2S have been investigated for BaSnO 3 thick film sensor prepared by precipitation method. Ba(OH) 2 and Na 2SnO 3 were used as staring materials. Ba(OH) 2 solution was dropped into Na 2SnO 3 solution slowly, the precipitate obtained was washed for many times until there is no Na + in filter solution, dried and calcined at 600–800 °C for 4 h in air. The phase composition was examined by means of XRD. The BaSnO 3 sensor prepared by using the powder calcined at 700 °C showed high sensitivity as well as good selectivity to dilute CH 3SH at 300 °C. Especially, the BaSnO 3 sensor showed the sensitivity ( R a/ R g) as high as 20 even to 0.01 ppm CH 3SH.
