Abstract
In his third encyclical letter, Caritas in Veritate, Pope Benedict XVI discusses the social issue using as a criterion the values of love and truth that configure man's essence and vocation to happiness and brotherhood within the large human family. To that end the Pope calls for a new interdisciplinary dialogue, while promoting a society that rediscovers the importance of love and the centrality of the person to God. These values can promote an integral development. If the power of love has its origin in God, Eternal Love, and Absolute Truth, it can also be explained rationally. In this study, the author gathers and comments on the admonitions of the encyclical about the need to promote an interdisciplinary dialogue to ensure that science and technology contribute to the promotion of ethical values that have to protect the dignity of the human person.
