Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the prospects for the using of digital technologies in the hotel industry, identifies a number of problems and suggests ways to address them through the using of new digital technologies. Today, modern society can be described as informational. Everywhere there is a digitalization of enterprises, the conduct of the modern economy is being revised, and human labor is being robotized. The main results of digitalization are the same goods and services of the traditional economy, which are provided with the help of computer equipment and information systems. This has a number of advantages, the main of which is to increase the availability for ordinary users of certain markets (goods or services), and for enterprises to increase competitiveness and efficiency, expand the market for goods and services to increase sales volumes of the product. In the age of the global Internet, wide informatization of services, and digitization of economy, the tourism and hospitality industry changes quickly. The main task of this paper is to study the existing experience of application of modern technologies in the hotel sphere and to analyze the positive and negative aspects. Results: 1. Based on study of the practical experience of such organizations as Marriott, Samsung, and Legrand, a conclusion is made on the necessity for application of digital technologies in the hotel sphere for the purpose of improving the system of services’ quality, reducing the service time, increasing the competitiveness of hotel companies, and reducing the costs of servicing the consumers. 2. The problems are identified in the selection process of hotel chain staff, which can be eliminated through the use of new digital technologies.
