The purpose of the study is to analyze the development of digitization of agriculture in Russia and the implementation of its elements in solving basic production problems, to give an overview of state programs for the development of digital agriculture, to identify prerequisites and obstacles in the development of digital agriculture, and to identify areas of digitalization of agriculture in Russia, taking into account advanced world and domestic practices. The authors use a variety of methods and techniques of economic research. The study shows that despite the lag of Russian agriculture in matters of digitalization from developed countries, the introduction of digitalization into the chain of agro-food products is actively gaining momentum. According to the results of the study, it is concluded that only with a systematic and integrated approach to digitalization one can achieve high results in the development of the industry and in achieving national development goals.
